The Police Deputy Chief examination is given when a
Police Deputy Chief position has been vacated and
the Commission has been notified of the need to give
the test (known as “at vacancy” testing). At such
time as this examination is opened for filing, only
those individuals currently serving in the City
classification of Police Commander, who apply and
meet all stated minimum qualifications, will be
eligible for testing.
